Decision-Making Leave definition

Decision-Making Leave. A one-day suspension with pay in which the employee is asked to use the day to think about whether he/she really wants to continue to work for the Hospital. Upon return a final decision is presented by the employee. If the answer is yes, a written corrective action plan must be presented to the manager, reviewed, discussed and signed off before the employee can return to work.
Decision-Making Leave means a paid leave from job duties of an undetermined length of time in order for a person to determine if she is prepared to meet the expectations of her position. This is a disciplinary action, decided on by Council, levied against an Executive Officer and voted on during a confidential session of Council as per By-Law #1. The President may not be given a decision making leave. The maximum length of a decision making leave for any executive officer would be twenty (20) scheduled work days.

Examples of Decision-Making Leave in a sentence

  • When an employee receives a Category A or B discipline which does not result in the employee’s termination, OR when the employee receives a Category C Decision-Making Leave discipline, the employee will be required to attend and participate in a mandatory assessment.

  • If after the Decision-Making Leave and commitment, the problem again persists, the employee is sent a ▇▇▇▇▇▇ letter as described below and the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ process is followed.

  • In lieu of Suspension Without Pay, an employee may choose Paid Decision-Making Leave.

  • In the event a Bargaining Unit employee is placed on Crisis Suspension or Decision-Making Leave, the Company will endeavor to assure that a Steward is present when the employee ▇▇ ▇▇▇ified.

  • Decision-Making Leave is considered a formal and documented step in the progressive discipline track.

  • In the event a Steward is not available, or it is i▇▇▇▇▇▇▇cal to have a Steward present, the management repr▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ive who places the employee on Crisis Suspension or Decision-Making Leave is responsible for ensuring that the Union office is notified as soon as possible.
