Subject to the provisions of sub-section ( 1), the Election Commission shall, having regard to the provisions of the Constitution and the principles specified in clauses (c) and (d) of sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Delimitation Act, 2002 (33 of 2002) determine the parliamentary and assembly constituencies in the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland in which seats shall be reserved, if any, for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes.
For delimiting these constituency boundaries, there is a separate, three-member Commission (the Delimitation Commission) provided under the Delimitation Act (2002).
