Flood hazard areas definition

Flood hazard areas means areas of land located in floodplains which are subject to a one percent or greater chance of flooding in any given year. These areas include, but are not limited to, streams, rivers, lakes, coastal areas, wetlands, and the like.
Flood hazard areas means those areas subject to inundation by the “base flood” as identified in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s flood insurance rate maps (“FIRMs”) prepared for the National Flood Insurance Program.
