It is arguable that under current provisions relating to interim orders, after the registrar has referred an allegation to the Investigating Committee, the registrar can no longer refer the allegation to the Interim Orders Committee to consider whether an interim order is necessary.
So, if the allegation has been referred to the Investigating Committee but that Committee has yet to convene to consider the allegation, and new information is received which suggests that an interim order may be necessary, it is arguable that the registrar cannot act on this and refer to the Interim Orders Committee.
This Interim Orders Committee may impose conditions on or suspend the registrant while the matter is investigated.
