International Tribunal definition

International Tribunal means any international court, committee, treaty body, tribunal, arbitral tribunal, or other international mechanism or procedure that has jurisdiction to consider the performance of Canada with regard to the International Legal Obligation in question;

Examples of International Tribunal in a sentence

  • The International Tribunal shall have the power to prosecute persons responsible for serious violations of international humanitarian law committed in the territory of the former Yugoslavia since 1991 in accordance with the provisions of the present Statute.

  • If in the circumstances specified in paragraphs 3 and 4 of this Article the President of the International Tribunal is unable to exercise the above function or he is a national of a Contracting Party, the appointment shall be made by the Vice President.

  • Such imprisonment shall be in accordance with the applicable law of the State concerned, subject to the supervision of the International Tribunal.

  • The International Tribunal for Rwanda shall have jurisdiction over natural persons pursuant to the provisions of the present Statute.
