Late Enrollment Penalty definition

Late Enrollment Penalty or “LEP” means the financial penalty incurred under the Medicare Drug Rules by Medicare Part D beneficiaries who have had a continued gap in creditable coverage of sixty-three (63) days or more after the end of the beneficiary’s initial election period, adjusted from time to time by CMS.

  • Open Enrollment Period means an enrollment period during which time any Eligible Employee and/or Dependent may apply to become a Subscriber and/or Covered Dependent, and existing Subscribers may apply to change to another provider network or coverage option, if available, or elect to terminate coverage.
