Local government means a unit of government in a State and, if chartered, established, or otherwise recognized by a State for the performance of a governmental duty, including a local public authority, a special district, an intrastate district, a council of governments, a sponsor group representative organization, and any other instrumentality of a local government.
Local government unit or “LGU” means (i) a State Authority, county, Municipality, municipal, county or regional sewerage or utility Authority, municipal sewerage district, joint meeting, improvement Authority, or any other political subdivision of the State authorized pursuant to law to construct, operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems, or (ii) a State Authority, district water supply commission, county, Municipality, municipal, county or regional utilities Authority, municipal water district, joint meeting or any other political subdivision of the State authorized pursuant to law to operate or maintain a public water supply system or to construct, rehabilitate, operate or maintain water supply facilities or otherwise provide water for human consumption; or (iii) a county, municipality, municipal, county or regional transportation authority, or any other political subdivision of the State authorized to construct, operate, and maintain public highways or transportation projects as defined pursuant to this section.
Government school means a school established under section 5 of the Act, for the purpose of providing courses of instruction in pre-school, primary or secondary education.
Local Government Act means the Local Government Act, R.S.B.C. 2015, Chapter 1, together with all amendments thereto and replacements thereof;
Central Government Body means a body listed in one of the following sub-categories of the Central Government classification of the Public Sector Classification Guide, as published and amended from time to time by the Office for National Statistics: Government Department; Non-Departmental Public Body or Assembly Sponsored Public Body (advisory, executive, or tribunal); Non-Ministerial Department; or Executive Agency;
Local government entity means a county, incorporated city, independent school district, public junior college district, emergency services district, other special district, joint board, or other entity defined as a political subdivision under Texas law that maintains the capability to provide mutual aid.
Central Government means the Government of India;
local government elector means a person registered as a local government elector in the register of electors in the authority’s area in accordance with the Representation of the People Acts;
Foreign Government Scheme or Arrangement has the meaning specified in Section 5.12(d).
Special Government employee means an officer or employee of EPA who is retained, designated, appointed or employed to perform, with or without compensation, for not to exceed 130 days during any period of 365 consecutive days, temporary duties either on a full-time or intermittent basis. See 18 U.S.C. 202. 1503.601 Policy. (a) No contract may be awarded without competition to a former employee or special government employee (or to a business concern or other organization owned or substantially owned or controlled by a former employee) whose employment terminated within 365 calendar days before submission of a proposal to EPA. (b) No contract shall be awarded without competition to a firm which employs, or proposes to employ, a current employee or special government employee, or a former EPA employee or special government employee, whose employment terminated within 365 calendar days before submission of a proposal to EPA, if either of the following conditions exists:
Municipal Government Act means the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, c M-26;
Tribal government means an Indian tribal government as defined in Section 3(32) of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), as amended, or an agency or instrumentality of the trib- al government, that has government offices principally located in this state.
Local governments means cities, towns, counties, special purpose districts, and any other municipal corporations or quasi-municipal corporations in the state excluding school districts and port districts.
Host Government means a Government with which UNICEF has a programme of development cooperation, and includes a Government of a country in which UNICEF provides humanitarian assistance.
Local government officer means a member of the board; the su- perintendent; or an agent (including an employee) of the district who exercises discretion in the planning, recommending, selecting, or contracting of a vendor. Local Gov’t Code 176.001(1), (4)
government procurement means the process by which a government obtains the use of or acquires goods or services, or any combination thereof, for governmental purposes and not with a view to commercial sale or resale, or use in the production or supply of goods or services for commercial sale or resale;
Australian Government rebate means the private health insurance rebate that helps reduce the cost of health insurance. The rebate you are entitled to depends on your income and age and is indexed annually by the Australian Government.
Foreign government means any jurisdiction other than the one embraced within the United States, its territories, and its possessions.
Provincial Government means the Western Cape government;
Unit of local government means unit of local government as defined by section 115(5).
Participating local government means a local government
Government List means any of (i) the two lists maintained by the United States Department of Commerce (Denied Persons and Entities), (ii) the list maintained by the United States Department of Treasury (Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons), and (iii) the two lists maintained by the United States Department of State (Terrorist Organizations and Debarred Parties).
Certified local government means a historic preservation program established by county or municipal ordinance that is certified by the Secretary of the Interior pursuant to 36 CFR Part 61, the implementing regulations for the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended.
MEC for local government means the member of the Executive Council of a province who is responsible for local government in that province;
Government of Venezuela means the government of any political subdivision of Venezuela, and any agency or instrumentality of the government of Venezuela.
Government Grant means a grant-in-aid, subsidy or contribution by the government of the Republic in the national or provincial sphere.
