Local Telecommunications Traffic definition

Local Telecommunications Traffic means telecommunications traffic between a LEC and a CMRS provider that, at the beginning of the call, originates and terminates within the same Major Trading Area (“MTA”), as defined in 47 CFR Section 24.202(a).
Local Telecommunications Traffic for the purpose of reciprocal compensation is telecommunications traffic between a LEC and a CMRS provider that, at the beginning of the call, originates and terminates with the same Major Trading Area.
Local Telecommunications Traffic is defined for all purposes under this Agreement Local Service Area traffic that (a) is originated by a customer of one Party on that Party's network, (b) terminates to a customer of the other Party on the other Party's network within the same Major Trading Area (MTA), and (c) may be handled pursuant to an agreement between the originating Party and a carrier which performs only a transiting function for the originating Party in lieu of a direct connection between the Parties, provided that the service provided by Cingular is a two-way Mobile Service. For purposes of determining originating and terminating points, the originating or terminating point for Sandhill shall be the end office serving the calling or called party, and for Cingular shall be the originating or terminating cell site location which services the calling or called party at the beginning of the call.

Examples of Local Telecommunications Traffic in a sentence

  • The Parties agree to ▇▇▇▇ each other for Local Telecommunications Traffic as described in this Agreement unless the Local Telecommunications Traffic exchanged between the Parties is balanced and falls within an agreed upon threshold ("Traffic Balance Threshold").

  • The Parties agree that traffic that is directly or indirectly delivered, may be rated and recorded as Local Telecommunications Traffic subject to Reciprocal Compensation, but may have originated and terminated in different MTAs and therefore, is InterMTA Traffic.

More Definitions of Local Telecommunications Traffic

Local Telecommunications Traffic or “IntraMTA Traffic” is defined as that telecommunications traffic which originates and terminates within the same major trading area (“MTA”), as defined in 47 C.F.R. §24.202(a). For purposes of determining whether traffic originates and terminates within the same MTA, and therefore whether the traffic is local, the location of the end office serving the landline end user and the location of the cell site that serves the mobile end user at the beginning of the call shall be used.
Local Telecommunications Traffic is defined for all purposes under this Agreement as Telecommunications traffic that is originated on one Party's network, and terminated on the other Party's network within the same Major Trading Area (MTA). Local Telecommunications Traffic may be handled pursuant to an approved interconnection agreement between the originating Party and a carrier, which performs only a contractual transiting function for the originating Party in lieu of a direct connection between the Parties, provided that the service provided by AWCC is a two-way mobile service. For purposes of determining originating and terminating points, the originating or terminating point for RHTC shall be the end office serving the calling or called party, and for AWCC shall be the originating or terminating cell or called party at the beginning of site location which services the calling the call.
Local Telecommunications Traffic for purposes of compensation under this agreement is defined as telecommunications traffic that (a) is originated by a customer of one Party on that Party's network, (b) terminates to a customer of the other Party on the other Party's network within the same Major Trading Area (MTA), and (c) may be handled pursuant to an agreement between the originating Party and a carrier which performs only a transiting function for the originating Party in lieu of a direct connection between the Parties, provided that the customer of SPCS is a two-way CMRS customer and receives mobile service on a wireless, mobile basis as described in 47 U.S.C. §153(27). The origination point and the termination point on LEC’s network shall be the End Office serving the calling or called party. The origination point and the termination point on T-Mobile’s network shall be the cell site that services the calling or called party at the beginning of the call.
