Medical Receptionist definition

Medical Receptionist means a person who is employed to undertake medical receptionist duties at the medical practice.

  • In filling a position in a new classification or a vacancy in a classification other than Medical Receptionist or Nurse which is in the Union’s bargaining unit, if more than one employee has applied for the position, the Employer will give consideration to the qualifications and abilities of each of the candidates as they relate to the competencies set out in the job description and if those qualifications and abilities are equal, the most senior employee will be awarded the position.

  • A Grade 1 Medical Receptionist (Training) is an Employee with less than six (6) months’ work experience in the healthcare industry.

  • Clerical Trainer fulfills the requirements of a Grade 4 Medical Receptionist (Advanced) and:  Is responsible for the orientation and training of all new clerical staff.

  • An Employee at this Grade fulfils the requirements of a Grade 1 Medical Receptionist (Training) and:  Works under the supervision of senior staff, following established routines, methods and procedures.
