Offense type definition

Offense type means a designation that indicates whether an offense is a felony or a misdemeanor.
Offense type the type of offense (spelled out), e.g. “burglary,” “murder,” etc. This is a required field if the reporter has not provided the Offense Charge Symbol in field 274.
Offense type means the category of a criminal offense as categorized by the department of corrections.
