Payment Application Data Security Standard definition

Payment Application Data Security Standard or “PA DSS” – is a standard subordinate to the PCI DSS that defines the requirements of a PCI SSC listed Payment Application and the obligations of the merchant and a Third-Party Software developer when implementing a Payment Application developed by a Third-Party into a merchant’s PCI DSS-compliant environment. Use of a PA DSS-compliant application by itself does not make an entity PCI-DSS compliant.
