Plant shutdown definition

Plant shutdown means total stoppage of plant and production activities by cutting off in- coming power supply to the plant. Plant shutdown is resorted to under the following conditions :

Examples of Plant shutdown in a sentence

  • Employees without sufficient vacation entitlement and/or vacation pay accrual will be required to take time off without pay during the Plant shutdown.

  • Plant shutdown for vacations will take place during the two (2) week period immediately preceding Civic Holiday and during the last five (5) days of December which would otherwise be working days.

  • When production is suspended because of fifty percent (50%) or more of the Plant is shutdown due to lack of orders for instruments, employees laid off because of the Plant shutdown will be allowed an additional 160 hours credit before deductions are made.

  • In the event that a skeletal crew is required to work during the Plant shutdown, consideration will be based on: • Required skills.

  • Plant shutdown for vacations will take place during the two week period immediately preceding Civic Holiday and during the last five days of December which would otherwise be working days.

  • Unless asked to work, all employees will be required to take their vacation at Plant shutdown unless otherwise mutually agreed upon.

  • Plant shutdown shall be posted by the end of the last full month of the year.

  • In no event shall any employee be required to take his vacation dur- ing periods of Plant shutdown, curtailment of operations or while the employee is on layoff.

  • The downstream flange of the Plant shutdown block valve located downstream of Gas-Gas exchanger, E-201, and downstream of the line feeding the Fuel Gas Scrubber, V-405, where Residue Gas is delivered by MarkWest to Equitable, or to Equitable's designee, or to others entitled thereto.

  • The said time limits do not include Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, or Plant shutdown.

  • Shutdown means the cessation of operation of equipment.

  • Plant means the machinery and apparatus intended to form or forming part of the Works.

  • Plant Site (Works, Factory) means the local integration of one or more plants, with any intermediate administrative levels, which are under one operational control, and includes common infrastructure, such as:

  • Gasification means the substoichiometric oxidation or steam reformation of a substance to produce a gaseous mixture containing two or more of the following: (i) oxides of carbon; (ii) methane; and (iii) hydrogen;

  • Planned Outage means the removal of equipment from service availability for inspection and/or general overhaul of one or more major equipment groups. To qualify as a Planned Outage, the maintenance (a) must actually be conducted during the Planned Outage, and in Seller’s sole discretion must be of the type that is necessary to reliably maintain the Project, (b) cannot be reasonably conducted during Project operations, and (c) causes the generation level of the Project to be reduced by at least ten percent (10%) of the Contract Capacity.
