Police Trainee definition

Police Trainee. This is an entry level class for candidates seeking a police officer position. The trainee will attend and must successfully complete training at a District approved POST academy; receive on the job training in patrol procedures, investigation, arrest, search and seizure. Assignment in this class is limited to the duration of the academy period. (ECC job Description; 3/21/94).

Examples of Police Trainee in a sentence

  • During the period between the date of hiring and the completion of the minimum basic law enforcement recruit academy training, the new employee shall be a sworn Police Trainee who shall not have the powers of arrest and shall not work in the capacity of a police officer except as provided by POST regulations.

  • An employee that is hired into the classification of Police Trainee or Police Officer after January 1, 2005 must sign a letter of commitment indicating that he or she will work for the District no less than five (5) years.

  • Time in trainee status (e.g., Police Trainee) shall not be a part of the probationary period when assigned to Police Officer status.

  • Notwithstanding any other provision of this Section 4.2, no bonus described in this Section 4.2 shall be paid to Employee in respect of any Half Fiscal Year if actual Net Income for such Half Fiscal Year is zero or a negative number and the total of the bonuses described in this Section 4.2 for any Half Fiscal Year shall be no greater than the amount by which actual Net Income exceeds zero with respect to such Half Fiscal Year.

  • In-service training means the formal and/or informal work related learning activities required by the employer to be undertaken by an employee through opportunities provided by the employer, which contribute to an employee's professional development and efficiency by:

  • Travel training means providing instruction, as appropriate, to children with significant cognitive disabilities, and any other children with disabilities who require this instruction, to enable them to develop an awareness of the environment in which they live, and learn the skills necessary to move effectively and safely from place to place within that environment (e.g., in school, in the home, at work, and in the community).

  • Skills training means systematic skill building through curriculum-based psychoeducational and cognitive-behavioral interventions. These interventions break down complex objectives for role performance into simpler components, including basic cognitive skills such as attention, to facilitate learning and competency.

  • Online Training means prerecorded training delivered virtually e.g. SAP e-learning.

  • New jobs training program or “program” means the project or projects established by a community college for the creation of jobs by providing education and training of workers for new jobs for new or expanding industry in the merged area served by the community college. The proceeds of the certificates, as authorized by the Act, shall be used only to fund program services related to training programs made necessary by the creation of new jobs.
