Political Risk Event definition

Political Risk Event means: Any type of war, invasion, embargo, rebellion, revolution, riot or sabotage and any politically motivated work stoppage or slowdown, labor unrest or violence in the Russian Federation or any political sub-division thereof which affects the performance or enforceability of the Omolon Facility or the AA Facility by or against any party thereto.
Political Risk Event means an Expropriatory Act, Selective Discrimination, Forced Abandonment, Forced Divestiture, Deprivation, Political Violence and Currency Inconvertibility as defined in Articles 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7, respectively, herein.
Political Risk Event means, for a Receivable, any of the following:

  • A loss which results due to the failure by the Insured or the Foreign Enterprise to take all reasonable measures to protect or preserve the property of the Foreign Enterprise shall not be the basis for a Claim of Political Violence, except where the Insured was prevented from taking such measures due to the occurence of a Political Risk Event.

More Definitions of Political Risk Event

Political Risk Event means an Expropriation or Currency Inconvertibility, as defined in Sections 3.1 and 3.2, respectively, either or both of which (or any combination thereof) continues and is in effect during each day of the Waiting Period.
Political Risk Event means (i) any measures taken, directed, authorized, ratified or approved by the Government of Brazil or Governmental Authority that prevent the Company or the Guarantor from converting Brazilian currency into U.S. dollars and/or remitting U.S. dollars outside Brazil, or (ii) the failure of the Government of Brazil or Governmental Authority (or of entities authorized under the laws of Brazil to operate in the foreign exchange markets) to effect such conversion and/or remittance by the Company or the Guarantor, in each case as otherwise required in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Notes or (iii) expropriation, confiscation, nationalization, discriminatory legislative actions or other governmental measures taken by the Government of Brazil or Governmental Authority which have the effect of depriving the Company or the Guarantor of the use or control of Brazilian currency or U.S. dollars in connection with its Obligations hereunder. A Political Risk Event shall be deemed to have occurred without regard to whether the Company or the Guarantor may be able to make a scheduled interest payment under the Notes in U.S. dollars from offshore sources outside of Brazil. Where an event meets the definition of Political Risk Event and Illegality Event, it shall be considered a Political Risk Event and shall not constitute an Illegality Event.
Political Risk Event means any Governmental Authority shall have condemned, nationalized, seized, attached, compulsorily acquired or otherwise expropriated all of or any substantial part of the Interests or the property of a Company, or shall have assumed custody or control, of such property or of the business or operations of such Company, or shall have taken any action for the dissolution or disestablishment of the Company or any other action that would prevent the Company or its respective officers from carrying on its business or operations or a substantial part thereof.

  • Political Event shall have the meaning set forth in Clause 21.4;
