Potential habitat definition

Potential habitat where it relates to fauna means:
Potential habitat means all habitat types within the potential range of a threatened flora or fauna species that are likely to support that species in the short and/or long term. It may not include habitats known to be occupied intermittently. Potential habitat is determined from published and unpublished scientific literature and/or via expert opinion, is agreed by the Threatened Species Section, DPIPWE in consultation with species specialists, and endorsed by the Scientific Advisory Committee under the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995.
