Secondary containment or diversion system definition

Secondary containment or diversion system means any structures, devices, or combinations thereof supplementary to the ordinary containers employed in the normal course of storage, transfer, processing, or use, designed and operated to prevent leaks of hazardous substances from becoming discharges.

  • Secondary containment or “secondarily contained” means a release prevention and release detection system for a tank or piping. This system has an inner and outer barrier with an interstitial space that is monitored for leaks. This term includes containment sumps when used for interstitial monitoring of piping.

Such a system must employ operational controls (e.g., daily visual inspections for releases into the secondary containment system of aboveground tanks) or consist of an interstitial monitoring device designed to detect continuously and automatically the failure of the primary or secondary containment structure or the presence of a release of hazardous waste into the secondary containment structure.

  • Travel Companion means an individual, other than an Immediate Family Member, who accompanied the Covered Person on the trip where the emergency occurred.

  • Small wireless facility means a wireless facility that meets both of the following qualifications:
