Self-extinguishing definition
Self-extinguishing means materials that flame in fire and extinguish by themselves when fire is removed. "Fireproof" means the materials that flame in fire, but do not spread at least. "Non-flammable" means such materials as concrete, brick, tile, asbestos cement slate, steel, aluminium, glass, mortar and other materials that have incombustibility no less than that of these materials. (The same applies hereafter in this standard.)
Self-extinguishing means that when a flame is applied for a limited period and removed, the material shall self- extinguish within a specified time, (for details please refer to Appendix 'F' to F.A.R. Part 25).
