Shiftwork definition

Shiftwork means work performed to a weekly pattern of shifts rostered according to work requirements with commencing and finishing times as decided by the Employer.

Examples of Shiftwork in a sentence

  • All shifts starting or finishing more than 2 hours outside of the ordinary hours of work will be classified as Shiftwork and be paid at double time for the entire shift.

  • Shiftworker for the purposes of this clause is defined as an Employee who is required by the Employer to work Shiftwork, which commences or finishes outside 6.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.

  • An Employee who has to work Shiftwork shall be given at least 48 hours’ notice of the requirements to work shift work.

More Definitions of Shiftwork

Shiftwork means either 8 hours rotating duty shifts or a single 12 hour duty shift on any or consecutive days. “STCW 95”means the International Convention of Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers 1978 as amended in 1995.
Shiftwork means shiftwork scheduled for five consecutive workdays or more.
Shiftwork means work extending for at least 2 weeks and performed either in daily recurrent periods, wholly or partly between the hours of 7 pm and 9 am or in regular rotating periods but does not include work performed by day workers employed under sub clause 19.2 above.
