Shift definition

Shift means a daily tour of duty exclusive of overtime hours.
Shift means the period of scheduled straight-time working hours on a scheduled workday where the hours scheduled are consecutive except for the meal period.
Shift means designated hours of work by an employee, with a designated beginning time and quitting time.

  • A wage incentive of seventy-five cents ($0.75) per hour shall be paid to employees assigned to Garage Shift Staffing covering all hours worked but excluding first shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • Shift premium of 5% of the current hourly rate of any Campus Peace Officer shall be applied to hours that begin prior to 6:59 a.m. and after 2:59 p.m. (hours between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. will be subject to 5% shift premium).

  • When the Employer deems it necessary to operate Highway Emergency Lane Patrol (H.E.L.P.), the assignment of employees to such shift or shifts shall be done in accordance with the procedure utilized to assign employees to Garage Shift Staffing.
