Short Selling definition

Short Selling means the uncovered sale of money market instruments.
Short Selling means the sale of Short Selling Securities in respect of which you have a presently exercisable and unconditional right to vest the Short Selling Securities in the purchaser by virtue of having borrowed such securities under a Stock Borrowing and Lending Arrangement.
Short Selling means the sale of Company Securities that the seller does not own at the time of entering into the agreement to sell, including a sale where at the time of entering into the agreement to sell the seller has borrowed or agreed to borrow the Company Securities for delivery at settlement.

  • Covered Short Selling of China Connect Securities is permitted subject to certain requirements in the Stock Connect Rules.

  • The Client acknowledges and accepts that since Galaxy International Securities does not provide any Short Selling or Stock Borrowing and Lending services in respect of the China Connect Securities, relevant clauses in the Terms and Conditions (including but not limited to clauses 36 and 37 of this Supplement) do not apply.


More Definitions of Short Selling

Short Selling means an activity as defined in point (b) of Article 2(1) of Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and the Council1;

Ltd incorporated under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1956 and act as the Trustee to the Schemes of the Mutual Fund. “Unit” The interest of the Unit holder which consists of each Unit representing one undivided share in the assets of the Scheme. “Unit holder” A person holding Unit(s) in the Scheme offered under this Document.
Short Selling means the sale of a Security that is not owned by the seller, or that the seller has borrowed. Short selling is motivated by the belief that a Security’s price will decline enabling it to be bought back at a lower price to make a profit.
