Sick Leave Day definition

Sick Leave Day means a day (as determined under a separate plan or program maintained by the Employer or pursuant to applicable local or state law) for which the Employee is entitled to payment of one day’s compensation by the Employer, when the Employee is physically or mentally unable to perform his or her duties or is otherwise absent from work for medical reasons.
Sick Leave Day means a Day on which a Pilot was scheduled for duty but was unable to report for duty due to illness.
Sick Leave Day means a scheduled work day. Examples of Sick Leave Day in a sentence

  • Upon the effective date of an employee’s retirement from County employment, he/she shall be credited with fifty ($50) dollars for each Sick Leave Day on the books in excess of one hundred sixty-five (165) days.

  • Upon termination of employment in the District, bargaining unit members shall receive FORTY FIVE DOLLARS ($45.00) for each unused Sick Leave Day up to a maximum of one hundred (100) days, provided that the bargaining unit member has accumulated at least fifteen (15) years seniority, per the bargaining unit's Seniority List.

  • For this provision, a Sick Leave Day shall be interpreted to be the employee’s normal hours of work per day.

  • The Parties agree to convert Three (3) Float Days and One (1) Sick Leave Day to Four (4) Personal Days per the National Agreement.

  • Excused absence for the use of a paid Personal Day under Sections 8-8.2 through 8-8.2(b) or for paid Sick Leave Day under Sections 8-8.1 through 8-8.1(e), except for a paid sick leave day taken the work day before or the work day after the employee's scheduled day off.

  • Section 5: The payment for each Sick Leave Day taken shall be based upon the employee's hourly rate times the number of hours in his normal work day.

  • Sick Leave Day payouts are retroactive to the first day of eligibility once all criteria are met.

  • In the event of an Undesignated Sick Leave Day, the overtime assignment that the employee is scheduled for may be kept or cancelled by the employee at the time they call in to use their Undesignated Sick Day.

  • Leave shall not be granted (1) the first week of school; (2) said leave is not to be used after May 15 unless approved by the Superintendent and said leave shall not be granted the day before or the day after any Emergency Leave Day, Sick Leave Day, nor the first day or last day of school, provided that a personal leave day scheduled previously shall not be charged to the employee if the employee subsequently must use sick leave on that day.

Related to Sick Leave Day

  • Sick Leave means the period of time an employee is absent from work by virtue of being sick or disabled or because of an accident not covered by Workers' Compensation.

  • Paid sick leave – means paid leave under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act.

  • Vacation means annual vacation with pay.

  • Leave Year means the year ending with the anniversary date of the employee’s appointment.

  • Current Sick Leave means those days of sick leave for the current contract year, which leave is granted at the rate of one day of sick leave per month worked, or major part thereof.
