Solar thermal energy system definition

Solar thermal energy system means an integrated unit consisting of a sunlight collection device, a system containing a heat transfer fluid to receive the collected sunlight, and heat exchangers to transfer the solar energy to a thermal storage tank to heat or cool spaces or fluids or to generate electricity.
Solar thermal energy system means a renewable energy system that uses solar energy for the purpose of producing heat to reduce directly the consumption of electricity, natural gas or propane.
Solar thermal energy system means an identifiable facility, equipment, apparatus, or the like that converts heat (solar thermal) energy to useful thermal or electrical energy for heating, cooling, or reducing the use of other types of energy that are dependent upon fossil fuel for their generation.
