Teaching Year definition

Teaching Year means the 12 calendar months beginning on July 1.
Teaching Year means, unless otherwise provided by law, the term time from the first working day of September of each year until the last working day before 16 June of the next year, except for the year of school- leaving or vocational examination; in the vocational training years of vocational secondary schools and vocational schools where no subjects in cultural domains are educated in the cases regulated by the Act on Vocational Education and Training, the teaching year may also be commenced in February as defined in the ministerial decree on the order of the school year,
Teaching Year means the period between September 1st and June 30th inclusive in any two consecutive years.

Examples of Teaching Year in a sentence

  • A reappointment is an appointment given to a person who, in the Teaching Year prior to the term of appointment, was a member of the Bargaining Unit.

  • Subject to qualifications and budgetary considerations, the Department will offer a preferred candidate an appointment of at least the same percentage of a full teaching assistantship as that preferred candidate’s appointment in the previous Teaching Year.

  • Accordingly, the Employer may reasonably expect the Employee to schedule the leave or some portion of the leave so as to minimize the impact of leave on the Teaching Year.

  • No applicant shall be granted preference for more than one (1) full teaching assistantship or its equivalent (384 hours) in any Teaching Year.

  • Although he or she shall not be obliged to teach without his or her consent outside the Teaching Year, any Employee may voluntarily accept a proposal made by the University to teach outside the Teaching Year or in the extension programme under terms and conditions, including appropriate compensation, offered by the Employer and agreed to by the Union.

  • Employees who have held a Part-time appointment in the previous Teaching Year and who are reappointed under Schedule B shall receive, in each year, a cost of living increase equal to the percentage cost of living increase which Full-time Employees receive.

  • An Employee shall be deemed to have repudiated his or her appointment and thereby terminated his or her rights under the Agreement if he or she accepts full-time employment outside the University without the Vice-President (Academic and Research)'s prior consent or if he or she is absent from his or her classes for two (2) or more consecutive weeks during the Teaching Year without leave or permission from the Vice-President (Academic and Research) except for reasonable cause.

  • The Department will endeavour to offer a preferred candidate an appointment of at least the same percentage of a full teaching assistantship as that preferred candidate's appointment in the previous Teaching Year.

  • Persons who are contracted to be at school four (4) hours or more per day for the number of maximum workdays per year as delineated in Article IV, Teaching Year, or equivalent, shall be credited with one (1) year experience for each year under contract.

  • Any Employee may voluntarily apply to the appropriate ▇▇▇▇ to undertake teaching in excess of the standard teaching load in the Teaching Year and shall be compensated in accordance with Article 18.03.

Related to Teaching Year

  • Crop year means any 12 month period which represents the planting, growing, harvesting and marketing of an insurable crop, as stated in the Schedules;

  • Matching Period has the meaning specified in Section 5.4(1)(e).

  • Vesting Year means a unit of Service credited to a Participant pursuant to Section 9.2 for purposes of determining his vested interest in his Account.

  • Leave Year means the year ending with the anniversary date of the employee’s appointment.

  • Operating Year means each calendar year that includes any part of the Term.
