Unforeseen means not anticipated or expected and occurring after the effective date of coverage.
Emergency work means any urgent measures which in the opinion of the Engineer-in-Charge become necessary during the progress of the work to obviate any risk of accident or failure or which become necessary for security.
Extra Work means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.
The Work means the work or works to be executed or done under this contract.
DAY WORK means on item of work requiring the employment of labour with or without materials as the case may be, which, in the opinion of the Senior Engineer /Civil-in-charge, is not capable of being evaluated by the accepted methods of measurement or assessment and is paid for on the basis of the actual labour and materials utilised on the particular item of work referred to.
Unforeseeable means not reasonably foreseeable by an experienced contractor by the Base Date.
a work means the outcome of building or civil engineering works taken as a whole which is sufficient in itself to fulfil an economic or technical function;
Project Work means the work required to complete the Project.
Emergency worker means any person who is registered with a local emergency management organization or the department and holds an identification card issued by the local emergency management director or the department for the purpose of engaging in authorized emergency management activities or is an employee of the state of Washington or any political subdivision thereof who is called upon to perform emergency management activities.
Installation Work means the construction and installation of the System and the Start-up, testing and acceptance (but not the operation and maintenance) thereof; all performed by or for the Power Producer at the Premises.

Force Majeure Events means acts of war, domestic and/or international terrorism, civil riots or rebellions, quarantines, embargoes and other similar unusual governmental actions, extraordinary elements of nature or acts of God.
Shift Work is defined as the same work performed by two or more employees or two or more successive sets or groups of employees working successive periods.
demolition work means a method to dismantle, wreck, break, pull down or knock down of a structure or part thereof by way of manual labour, machinery, or the use of explosives;
Excavation work means the making of any man-made cavity, trench, pit or depression formed by cutting, digging or scooping;
job work means any treatment or process undertaken by a person on goods belonging to another registered person and the expression “job worker” shall be construed accordingly;
Building Work has the meaning given to it in section 6 of the Building and Construction Industry (Improving Productivity) Act 2016 (Cth);
Repairs means the repairs to be made to the Mortgaged Property, as described on the Repair Schedule of Work (Exhibit C) or as otherwise required by Lender in accordance with this Loan Agreement.
Contract Work means everything required to be furnished and done by the Contractor by any one or more of the parts of the Contract referred to in Article 1, except Extra Work as hereinafter defined.
piece-work means any system by which earnings are calculated upon the quantity or output of work performed;
Tenant Improvement Work means the construction of the Tenant Improvements, together with any related work (including demolition) that is necessary to construct the Tenant Improvements.
Tenant Improvements Defined in Exhibit B, if any.
Unavoidable Delays means delays due to any of the following, and only the following, (provided that such delay is beyond Construction Manager’s reasonable control): war, insurrection, civil commotion, strikes, slowdowns, lock outs, riots, flood, earthquakes, fires, casualties, acts of God, acts of a public enemy, acts of terrorism, epidemics, quarantine restrictions, freight embargoes, lack of transportation, governmental moratoriums, unusually severe or abnormal weather conditions, failure of utilities, or a court order which causes a delay (unless resulting from a wrongful act of Construction Manager). In no event shall the application to Construction Manager of any applicable law, regulation, rule or other governmental requirement constitute an Unavoidable Delay. Contractor shall use reasonable good faith efforts to notify Owner not later than five (5) days after Construction Manager knows of the occurrence of an Unavoidable Delay. An extension of time for an Unavoidable Delay shall only be for the period of the Unavoidable Delay, which period shall commence to run from the time of the commencement of the cause of the Unavoidable Delay.
Landlord’s Work means the work of constructing the Tenant Improvements.
Unavoidable Delay means an event which delays Closing which is a strike, fire, explosion, flood, act of God, civil insurrection, act of war, act of terrorism or pandemic, plus any period of delay directly caused by the event, which are beyond the reasonable control of the Vendor and are not caused or contributed to by the fault of the Vendor. “Unavoidable Delay Period” means the number of days between the Purchaser’s receipt of written notice of the commencement of the Unavoidable Delay, as required by paragraph 5(b), and the date on which the Unavoidable Delay concludes.
Hot Work means work involving electric or gas welding, cutting, brazing, or similar flame or spark-producing operations.
