UNION STEWARDS. The County affirms the right and recognizes the necessity of the Union to designate employees as stewards. Further, Management recognizes that Local 721 Stewards are the official on-site representatives of the Union and commits that no Xxxxxxx will be unlawfully discriminated against because of the exercise of his/her rights and duties as are specifically set forth by the provisions of this MOA. It is also agreed by the County and the Union that the purpose of all Union representatives is to promote an effective relationship between the County and the Union by assisting in settling grievances at the lowest possible level of the grievance procedure.

The Union shall submit to the County a list of Union stewards within thirty (30) days following the signing of this agreement. The list is to be updated on a semi-annual basis. When required by a Union employee, a Union xxxxxxx may represent the aggrieved Union employee under the Grievance Procedure, and the County shall grant the xxxxxxx a reasonable amount of official leave for this purpose.
