Good Friday Thanksgiving Day. Victoria Day Remembrance Day Canada Day Christmas Day -First Monday in August Boxing Day and any other day proclaimed by the Federal, Provincial or Municipal Government, The above holidays shall be enjoyed on the day they are proclaimed by the Federal, Provincial or Municipal Government. In addition, there shall be two (2) floating holidays per year which will be designated by mutual agreement between the Employer and the employees for all employees who have completed their probationary period. If Heritage Day or any other day is legislated, one of the floating holidays will be observed on the day proclaimed. This floating holiday must be taken, in the year in it is earned. A minimum of (48) hours advance notice shall be required when requesting floating holidays. Pay for Holiday on a Regularly Scheduled Day Worked
Good Friday Thanksgiving Day. Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Employees hired after May 4, 2008 shall not be entitled to Civic Holiday. In order to qualify for holiday pay the employee must have completed three (3) months' continuous employment with the Company prior to the holiday, worked the employee's scheduled day before and the employee's scheduled day after the holiday, and worked on at least ten (10) days during the four (4) weeks prior to the week in which the holiday occurs. For employees who qualify, payment is calculated by dividing their total hours worked during the four (4) weeks by the number of days on which they worked in that same four (4) week period and multiplying the result by their regular hourly rate of pay.

An employee who by reason of lay-off is prevented from taking his floating holiday shall receive pay in lieu of such holiday, during the current An employeewho has established seniority in accordancewith Article iseligiblefor holiday pay provided he works his last scheduled shift immediately preceding the holidays and his first scheduled immediately followingthe holidays, unless prevented by reasons beyond his control and the employeetakes the necessary steps to advise his immediate supervisor. An employeewho is qualified under Article and who works any of the available work days within the thirty (30) day period immediately prior tothe holiday, is on authorized leave of absence when the holiday occurs, he shall receive holiday pay for the first holiday that occurs during his absence. Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday When the holiday occurs on an employee’s scheduled day off, he shall be paid for the holiday and he shall be permitted to take a day off from his scheduled work week in lieu of the holiday, at a time that is satisfactory to the employee and his supervisor. Employees who have accumulated a minimum of work- ing days’ seniority, will be granted (3) floating holidays per year in addition to the above holidays. Request for floaters are to be submitted in writing three (3) working days in advance of the floater with the exception of emergency situa- tions. Management will within twenty-four hours of receiving the request. floaters not taken prior to November 1st in each year will be scheduled. An employee who by reason of lay-off not exceeding working days, is prevented from taking an earned floating holiday, shall be paid for the holiday if it can- not be otherwise scheduled during the calendar year. When the above Holidays occur on a Saturday or Sunday, the observance of the Holidays be on the following Monday, unless changed by mutual agreement. When July falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Canada Day will be observed on the following Friday. An employee who has established seniority in accordance with Article and who works any of the available work days within the thirty (30) day period prior to the Holidays, and who works the last scheduled shift prior to the Holiday and the first scheduled shift following the Holiday, unless his return to work is prevented by circumstancesbeyond his con- trol, shall receive pay for the Holiday. Holidays occurring during the course of an allowed vacation period shall not be included as part of that allowance.
