Salary Step. One of the salary levels within a salary range.
Salary Step. An increment within a salary grade, which designates a specific pay rate as shown on the appropriate salary schedule.
Salary Step. An employee hired or promoted on or after September 09, 2013, having an appointment as a result of suspension of competitive examination or certification from an eligible list, who has served in his/her class for at least fifty-two (52) weeks at the respective Step, shall advance on the first day of the next succeeding biweekly pay period to the next higher step within the range prescribed herein for his/her class.
Salary Step. An employee who is selected for a higher-level position within their current classification will begin at a salary step ensuring an equal or greater rate of pay. Salary Step. A specific location in a salary range, not the dollar amount. (Note: The salary range applicable to a class may change without affecting the step placement rights of unit members).
Salary Step. Employees being demoted or displaced to a position they have never held shall be placed at the salary step 1-5 representing the least loss of pay. Employees being demoted or displaced to a position they have held shall be placed at the lower salary range at the appropriate step based on their qualifications. In no case shall the salary be increased above that received in the classification from which the employee was laid off. Employees who voluntarily demote shall follow article II (A) 2. If the employee is at Step in the previous classification and will be at a Step 5 in the new classification, the employee’s salary anniversary date will be maintained; otherwise, the salary anniversary date shall be set at one year for Step 1 through 4 and 5 years for Step 5.
Salary Step. 1. Credit up to the full step of any salary level on the teacher salary schedule shall be given for previous public school teaching experience. Credit for pre-K – 12 non-public school experience shall be granted at the rate of one (1) year for every two (2) years of teaching experience. Non-public school experience will only be considered for those years in which the candidate possessed a valid teaching certificate. Additional credit, not to exceed four (4) steps, shall be allowed for military service.
