85-Point Retirement (before age. 65) - if you have attained the minimum age of 55, and your combined age and years of credited service total 85 points or more under the terms of the Labatt Brewing Company Limited Retirement Plan, the amount of your life insurance will be reduced to $7,500. Otherwise, your life insurance will cease as of your date of termination of service with the company. You may obtain an individual life insurance policy up to the amount of life insurance which is cancelled when you retire or terminate service. Insurance is available under this conversion privilege even though you are unable to pass a medical examination, but the premium rate will be based on your attained age at the date of conversion. Application for individual insurance must be made to the insurance company within (31) days of the date your group insurance is cancelled and during this (31) day period your group life insurance is considered as in effect without charge. Your other insurance coverages cannot be converted to individual policies.
