Absence Due to Death in Family. Employees shall be granted up to five (5) days in each school year for the first occurrence, not deductible from sick leave, for bereavement due to death of the employee’s mother, father, child, spouse, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in- law, step-mother, step-father or step-child. For each additional occurrence for death of the employee’s mother, father, spouse, child(ren), brother or sister, the employee shall be granted five (5) days, not deductible from sick leave.
