Academic Unit. A unit headed by a Chair, such as a Department, Program, Library or School. A period of twelve (12) calendar months which, unless otherwise indicated, commences on September 1 of any year and ends on August 31 of the following year.

Academic Unit. Describes a Faculty, library, college, or other unit headed by a Xxxx, Executive Director or other person excluded from the bargaining unit as managerial by the Manitoba Labour Board Certificate No. MLB-6362. The twelve (12) calendar month period commencing on the first day of September and ending the thirty first day of the following August.
Academic Unit approval The results of the process defined in sections 17.1.2.1 and 17.1.2.2 shall be communicated to the academic unit. The academic unit Assembly shall then engage in a discussion of the results of the aforementioned reviews, leading to a duly proposed and approved proposal for the academic hiring needs of the department for the following three (3) years. The approved proposal shall then be communicated to the FTPC and the Xxxx of the faculty, by May 1st of the academic year.
