Common use of Accession of new EU Member States Clause in Contracts

Accession of new EU Member States. 1. This Agreement may be opened for accession by States that become EU Member States after the date of signing of this Agreement. 2. Accession to this Agreement by a Member State of the European Union shall be effected by the deposit of an instrument of accession with the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU, which will notify the Contracting Parties and the European Commission of the deposit of an instrument of accession and of the date thereof. Accession shall take effect 30 days following the date of deposit of the instrument of accession. 3. Paragraphs 1 and 2 of this Article and Article 24 of this Agreement shall apply mutatis mutandis to existing agreements and arrangements which are in place at the time of the accession of a new EU Member State.

Accession shall take effect 30 days on the fifteenth (15th) day following the date of deposit of the instrument of accession. 3. Paragraphs 1 1, 2, 3 and 2 7 of this Article and Article 24 of this Agreement 26 shall apply mutatis mutandis to existing agreements and arrangements which are in place at the time of the accession of a new EU Member StateState of the Union to this Agreement.
