Common use of Acting Department Chairs Clause in Contracts

Acting Department Chairs. Where the position of a Department Chair becomes vacant and a successor has not been appointed, the Xxxx shall, after consultation with the Department, appoint an Acting Chair to serve until such time as a recommendation from the Chair Selection Committee has been approved by the Employer, and the Chair has taken up the Appointment. The Xxxx’x consultation with the Department shall include an invitation to all Members in the Department to provide their views on the suitability of Members of the Department to serve as Acting Chair and subsequently to provide their views on the suitability of the individual being proposed as Acting Chair.
