Acting Employees i. Acting Employees shall have each period of temporary promotion accumulated for the purposes of determining their eligibility for a length of service increase and benefit accrual (i.e. retiree benefits). ii. As Acting Safety and Training Officers do not perform the full scope of duties of the position they shall be placed one group lower on the salary scale. This will apply to all new Acting Safety Officers as of the date of ratification.
Acting Employees. ‌ 39.1 Definition‌ An acting employee is a continuous employee who is temporarily placed in a higher paid position.
Acting Employees. Employees who are represented by another union at the District or are unrepresented and who are acting in a classification which comes within the Union's jurisdiction, maintain the benefits of his/her actual job classification and representational status except as set forth otherwise in this Agreement.
Acting Employees. An employee already categorized as an active full-time or part-time employee may be asked to fill a vacated position while continuing to perform their existing job duties. This does not include filling in for regular vacations or other brief periods that do not exceed 30 days. The employee shall actively carry out the duties and responsibilities of the vacated position along with their current job obligations. Terms of payment shall be negotiated by the Tribal Council, Tribal Director of Administration, Executive Director, or Administrator of Finance, as applicable. Independent contractors are persons who are contracted by the Tribe for a limited period of time to provide expertise in a specific field. Any independent contractor services desired will be secured in accordance with an approved procurement policy, will be in writing and must be signed by the Tribal President or authorized designee. Independent contractors are not classified as employees and are not eligible for any benefits unless such benefits were specifically negotiated as part of the contract and do not conflict with a specific benefit plan document. Independent contractors are not subject to the employment policies and procedures of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇-▇▇▇▇▇▇ Community; except those designated by tribal ordinance or contract. Non-exempt employees are expected to confine their work to the scheduled workday and workweek, unless overtime is authorized in advance by the immediate supervisor. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) per week, except as otherwise stated in the Tribe’s Fair Labor Standards Ordinance, which may be amended as necessary. Persons who are employed in administrative, executive or professional positions are specifically exempted from the overtime provisions of the Tribe’s Fair Labor Standards Ordinance. Therefore, exempt employees do not receive overtime pay. The hours worked by exempt employees will often be irregular and may begin and/or end outside of the normal workday.
Acting Employees a. Correctional Officers who are acting in higher Correctional Officer levels shall sign up for their annual vacation leave on the list pertaining to their acting position. b. Correctional Officers who are assigned to other functions (acting, on assignment or other) shall sign up for their annual vacation leave on the list pertaining to their assigned position. c. Correctional Officers who occupy a Correctional Manager position shall sign up for their annual vacation leave on the list pertaining to Correctional Managers. d. Correctional Officers who become acting Correctional Managers after having chosen their vacation leave, shall have their choice of vacation leave transferred to the list pertaining to Correctional Managers. The foregoing weeks of vacation leave that are thus freed up shall then become available. e. Correctional Officers who occupy a Correctional Manager position and who return to their position as a Correctional Officer shall keep the vacation leave dates chosen at the time they were in the Correctional Manager position.
