Additional Leave Following Maternity, Parental. or Adoption Leave Upon written request, an employee who elects the extended parental leave benefit, as defined under the Employment Insurance Act, shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay of up to six (6) consecutive months in addition to statutory requirements. An employee who elects the standard parental benefit as defined under the Employment Insurance Act, shall be entitled to up to twelve (12) consecutive months of leave without pay in addition to statutory requirements.
