Additional Leaves. Should an employee require additional time to care for a gravely ill family member, additional leaves may be granted beyond the eight (8) week period specified above. Such additional leave shall be pursuant to Article 13.02

Additional Leaves. Additional leave entitlements that may be applicable to unit members are granted by the Education Code, the Government Code, and by Board Policy.

Such leaves presently include but are not limited to Compassionate Care Leave, Long Term Leave for Serious Illness or Injury, Critical Illness of a Child Leave, Critical Illness of an Adult Leave, Disappearance or Death of a Child Leave, Organ Donation Leave, and Leave for Reservists. Eligibility for such leaves will be determined in accordance with the provisions of The Employment Standards Code (Manitoba) and Regulations thereunder as amended at the time of the leave request. Additional Leaves. Upon request of the employee the Board may grant additional leave days without pay. Other than for medical or family emergency reasons, the intent of additional leave without pay is for rare or unexpected circumstances. It is not intended to have or extend a vacation period or have additional time off during the school year.
Additional Leaves. Teachers may be granted a leave of absence of up to one year without pay for other reasons which shall include but not be limited to graduate study, work in another related field, travel or rest. Notice of intent to return to employment the September following the end of the leave shall be given not later than the preceding March 1.
Additional Leaves. Additional leaves for good and sufficient cause may be granted by the Board. The Board will use consistent standards when making the decision.

In addition to the unpaid pre-childbirth and the disability leaves described above, once all available sick leave is exhausted, an adjunct or contract faculty member is entitled to 12 workweeks at 50% pay for the reason of the birth of a child, or the placement of a child with an adjunct or contract faculty member in connection with the adoption or xxxxxx care of the child for bonding with a new child under FMLA/CFRA (see section 4E).
