Common use of AGREEMENT PURPOSE Clause in Contracts

AGREEMENT PURPOSE. This contract sets forth the agreement between the City of Urbana, hereinafter referred to as the “Employer” and the Urbana Firefighters Association I.A.F.F. Local 595, hereinafter referred to as the “Union,” which represents employees of the City of Urbana Fire Division as specified herein. Specifically, the agreement addresses matters pertaining to wages, hours or terms and other conditions of employment mutually expressed between the parties. The male pronoun or adjective where used herein refers to the female also unless otherwise indicated. The term “employee” or “employees” where used herein refers to all employees in the bargaining unit. The purpose of this contract is to provide a fair and reasonable method of enabling employees covered by this contract to participate, through Union representation, in the establishment of terms and conditions of their employment and to establish a peaceful procedure for the resolution of contract differences between the parties.
