Alternative Materials, Systems and Equipment. The Engineer shall, in consultation with the Owner and construction manager, if any, consider the value of alternative materials, building systems and equipment, together with other considerations based on program, budget and aesthetics in developing the design of the Project. Decisions regarding Alternative Materials and System and Equipment and collectively shall be documented in the evaluation and approval process outlined in 1.11.1. 5 below.
