AND RECLASSIFICATION. A. For the purpose of this Contract, "Classification" refers to the vertical arrangement of employee categories (Classes) based on the duties, responsibilities, skills, and proficiencies for each position. B. The purpose of "Classes" is to provide reasonable wage differentials between employee categories based on assigned duties, responsibilities, skills, and proficiencies. C. Employees may apply for reclassification once in each twelve (12) month period, or more often if job responsibilities are substantially altered. D. Employees will utilize the College’s Employee Reclassification Policy, Procedure and Forms to request a reclassification. E. Reclassification requests must be submitted to Human Resources. F. Any employee may have a Union representative present at a reclassification review. G. Within sixty (60) calendar days of submitting a Reclassification Request, unless extended by mutual agreement, the College will provide the employee with a written decision. ▇. The employee may appeal the decision to the College President or designee by requesting an appeal, in writing, to Human Resources within thirty (30) calendar days of the denial. I. The College President or designee will issue the employee a written decision within thirty (30) calendar days of the appeal date. J. If a reclassification is approved, at any time during the review or appeal process, the employee will be compensated at the new rate of pay from the date that the current reclassification request was submitted. K. The College will notify the Union, in writing, when a position is being reclassified to a job classification that is excluded from a bargaining unit covered by this agreement.

AND RECLASSIFICATION. Section 19.1: Any employee alleging that he has experienced major changes and/or responsibilities, as a result of a reorganization of any division, unit or team level, or as a result of reassignment, or changes in job function, may appeal to the local Civil Service Commission for a job audit. The local Civil Service Commission shall conduct such a job audit study at the earliest possible time. If the employee is not satisfied with the results he shall have the opportunity to appeal to the Civil Service Commission and/or to the Courts. Section 19.2: The County agrees to consult with the Federation in respect to any future classification or reclassification of any job title within the bargaining unit or of any new title within the Federation’s community of interest prior to submission of such classification to the County Legislature or to any of its committees. The County further agrees that upon determination of a classification or reclassification within the community of interest of the Federation, it will promptly enter into consultation and discussions with representatives of the Federation in respect to such classification or reclassification. The County agrees to make available to representatives of the Federation all data which has an effect upon such determination regarding classification, reclassification and further, the County will permit representatives of the Federation to testify before the Civil Service Commission in respect to any classification or reclassification. Section 19.3: Notice of examinations shall be conspicuously posted on each floor of the department and in all areas where employees are represented by the Federation, at least ten (10) days prior to the cutoff date for submission of applications for the taking of such examinations. In addition, the monthly summary of upcoming County exams shall be posted at all work sites. Section 19.4: The County shall request that the Civil Service Commission conduct an appropriate examination for new positions as soon as possible.
AND RECLASSIFICATION. Job Descriptions The Employer agrees to draw up job descriptions for all positions for which the Union is the bargaining agent. These descriptions shall be presented and discussed with the Union. Elimination of Present Classifications Existing classifications shall not be eliminated or changed without prior discussion with the Union.

AND RECLASSIFICATION. 22.1 Every bargaining unit position shall be placed in a classification. 22.2 When a classification is reclassified and the result is an upward salary adjustment, the position shall be placed on the new salary schedule at a step that results in the next higher amount of money. 22.3 During the regular work year for each classification, excluding summer and non- instructional District work periods, employees who work out of classification for more than five (5) consecutive days within a fifteen (15) calendar day period, shall receive the equivalent of a range or step increase for the entire time worked out of classification.
