The Annual Staffing Process clause establishes the procedures and timelines for reviewing and determining staffing needs on a yearly basis. Annual Staffing Process. 23.01 The intent of this Article is to put a framework in place that will ensure the Board allocates people and resources in a transparent, equitable, effective and fair manner that will meet the needs of our diverse community. The parties agree that all teachers whose responsibilities are directed to the education of elementary school students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 including teachers of French and Special Education programs are members of the Union and as such are subject to the staffing provisions of this Collective Agreement. The parties mutually acknowledge that the teaching assignments included as part of the assignment of a Principal or Vice Principal are excepted from the application of this Article.
Annual Staffing Process. The teacher shall endeavour to give the earliest possible notice of intent to return to duty, but must give written notice to the Principal at least four (4) weeks prior to returning to duty.
Annual Staffing Process. A joint committee hereinafter referred to as the “Educational Assistant Staffing Committee” shall oversee the placement of Educational Assistants into positions during the Annual Staffing Process. The Educational Assistant Committee will consist of two (2) representatives of each of the Union and the Employer. Each Party will appoint their own representatives. Either Party shall have the discretion to have up to (2) additional resource persons to attend.
1) In May of each year, all Educational Assistants shall be deemed unassigned from their current position.
2) All vacancies for each assignment meeting shall be posted electronically as stated in Article 13.

4) A second round of vacancies will be posted if vacancies still exist. All vacancies shall be posted electronically as stated in Article 13.02. Descriptions of positions shall be available for Educational Assistants. Only Educational Assistants will access vacancies electronically and identify, in order of preference, positions for which they are interested.
5) At the end of the assignment round(s), any Educational Assistant without a position will be declared surplus and provided options as per Article 14.04. The bumping process will be completed by the end of the school year.
Annual Staffing Process. The leave shall be without salary or benefits during the term of the leave but the teacher shall retain the right to participate in all benefits, subject to the terms of the respective policies. The Board agrees to continue coverage of the teacher’s benefits at the teacher’s sole expense. The teacher must provide the Board with the appropriate documentation in accordance with established Board practice to ensure continuation of benefit coverage.
Annual Staffing Process. A teacher who is on full time release union leave shall continue to accumulate experience credited to the salary grid in Article 10. An annual report of sick days used shall be made to the Board.
