Educational Assistant Staffing. The Employer and the Union recognize that to best meet the needs of students while respecting the seniority rights and right to equitable treatment of all its Employees in regard to the filling of vacancies, relocation and layoff, that it is necessary for some additional procedures for Educational Assistants. Except for those outlined below, all other provisions of the Collective Agreement shall apply to Educational Assistants.
Educational Assistant Staffing. The parties acknowledge the commitment of the Board to changes in Educational Assistant hours as noted in Article In light of the Government's intention, conditional upon the approval of the Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council, to increase the benchmark salary for Education Assistants in the Elementary Pupil Foundation Grant in the by in the Board commits to allocating all of the funds received for this purpose in to support the changes to increasing all up to a six and one-half (6 hours work day. In addition, the funds will be used to create full time jobs and limit the number of half-time positions to the level supported by the additional funding. The parties agree to review the implications of moving to the new schedule of six and one-half hours a day for Educational Assistants in September through the Labour Management Committee. The parties agree to review issues such as, but not limited to: the impact on the transfer process; the impact of individuals wishing to remain at half time; the transition of the introduction of the new hours in order to minimize the impact on current staff; Any other issue arising from the implementation of the new hours. The parties will review all issues and decisions will be made by consensus before implementation. The Board will share the financial analysis and calculations of the allocation for Educational Assistants with the Union each year. Where the full amount of funds available for this purpose have not been spent or additional funds are made available by the Ministry for this purpose, the parties will meet to review the feasibility of increasing the number of hours worked by Educational Assistants up to hours per day, subject to the remaining funds available under this enhancement.
Educational Assistant Staffing. During the term of this agreement, Educational Assistants shall be staffed at a minimum of 110 FTE. Concerns about the use of co-op students and volunteers will be addressed through the Labour/Management Co-operative Committee at the request of either party.
