Application of Seniority on Layoff. 11.02 a) Where employees are laid off from the Company for lack of work (other than temporary layoffs not to exceed two (2) weeks resulting from accident, breakdown or other emergency) the Company shall lay off the employees affected in the inverse order of their seniority ranking with the Company except in those cases where the requirements and efficiency of operations and ability, knowledge, training and skill of the individual to fill the normal requirements of the job require otherwise.
