Apprentice Rotation: Fitting, Toolmaking and Electrical Sample Clauses
Apprentice Rotation: Fitting, Toolmaking and Electrical. The parties agree that the training and development of apprentices is of significant importance to the individual and the Company. Therefore, as part of the training and development of apprentices, the parties agree to the following:
a) Apprentice rotations will be logistically planned by the training department and monitored by the Apprentice sub- committee of the Trade Training Consultative Group (TTCG).
b) Indicative rotation plan, subject to business and individual needs:
i) Month 1 – month 6 in 'home' department to orient the employee to the needs of the business and their occupational group.
ii) Nominally month 7 – month 18 rotating through departments on an approximately quarterly to half-yearly basis to broaden their experience and knowledge.
iii) Balance of apprenticeship (nominally month 19 – month 48) back in home department acquiring skills required by that department and their occupational group.
c) During the course of their apprenticeship, mechanical fitting and toolmaking apprentices will spend at least one 3 month rotation in the technical inspection department and at least one 3 month rotation in an engineering department.
