Windsor CUSD #1 Student Technology Commitment PURPOSE: Students will utilize technology as a tool to challenge, expand and enhance learning. Windsor CUSD #1 CUSD 5A may provide and assign student digital learning tools for use both at school and at home as a means to promote achievement and provide flexible learning opportunities. This document provides guidelines and information about District expectations for students and families who are being issued these one-to-one (1:1) digital learning tools, as well as students who are issued devices to be used in the classroom. Additional rules may be added as necessary and will become a part of this guide. It is our expectation and belief that students will use technology responsibly and that they understand the appropriate and acceptable use of both the technology and District network resources. Our policies and procedures include the following specific responsibilities and restrictions.

Responsibilities The student will: *Students will use their school issued Chromebook while at school *Adhere to this technology commitment *Will communicate in a responsible, ethical, and polite manner, avoiding profanity, obscenity, and offensive or inflammatory speech. *Respect the Internet filtering and security measures included on the digital learning tool. *Use technology for school-related purposes only. *Allow an administrator or teacher to inspect the content of any school-issued digital learning tool; understanding that any content may be viewed, monitored or archived by the District at any time. The student will not: *Mark, deface, or place stickers on the school-issued digital learning tool. *Attempt to override, bypass or otherwise tamper with the Internet filtering software, device settings, hardware, software, or network configurations. *Attempt access to networks and other technologies beyond their authorized access. This includes attempts to use another person’s account and/or password or access secured wireless networks. *Share passwords, attempt to discover passwords, ‘hack’ to gain access other than your account. *Download harmful, malicious, or inappropriate content including the intentional introduction of computer viruses and other spyware. *Attempt to locate, view, share, or store any materials that are unacceptable in a school setting. This includes but is not limited to pornographic, obscene, graphically violent, or vulgar images, sounds, music, language, video or other materials. The criteria for acceptability is demonstrated in the types of material made available to students by teachers and administrators. *Reveal or post identifying personal information, files or communications to unknown persons. *Participate in cyberbullying, including personal attacks or threats toward anyone made while using either District-owned or personally–owned technology. *Use the District-issued device for commercial or political purposes.

  • Appropriate Safeguards BA shall implement appropriate safeguards to prevent the use or disclosure of Protected Information other than as permitted by the Contract or Addendum, including, but not limited to, administrative, physical and technical safeguards in accordance with the Security Rule, including, but not limited to, 45 C.F.R. Sections 164.308, 164.310, and 164.312. [45 C.F.R. Section 164.504(e)(2)(ii)(B); 45 C.F.R. Section 164.308(b)]. BA shall comply with the policies and procedures and documentation requirements of the Security rule, including, but not limited to, 45 C.F.R. Section 164.316 [42 U.S.C. Section 17931].

  • Appropriate Unit The Exclusive Representative shall represent all such employees of the district contained in the appropriate unit as defined in Article III, Section 2 of the Agreement and the P.E.L.R.A. and in certification by the Commissioner of Mediation Services, if any.

  • Description of Appropriate Unit For purposes of this Agreement, the appropriate unit shall mean all Education Assistant/LPN/ARN employees employed by the School District excluding the following: confidential employees, supervisory employees, essential employees, part-time employees whose services do not exceed 14 hours per week or 35% of normal work week, employees who hold positions of a temporary or seasonal character for a period not in excess of 67 working days in any calendar year, and emergency employees.

  • Return or Destruction of PHI At termination of this Agreement, Business Associate hereby agrees to return or destroy all PHI provided by or obtained on behalf of Covered Entity. Business Associate agrees not to retain any copies of the PHI after termination of this Agreement. If return or destruction of the PHI is not feasible, Business Associate agrees to extend the protections of this Agreement to limit any further use or disclosure until such time as the PHI may be returned or destroyed. If Business Associate elects to destroy the PHI, it shall certify to Covered Entity that the PHI has been destroyed.

  • CERTIFICATION OF NONSEGREGATED FACILITIES (Applicable to construction contracts exceeding $10,000) The Contractor certifies that it does not maintain or provide for its establishments, and that it does not permit employees to perform their services at any location, under its control, where segregated facilities are maintained. It certifies further that it will not maintain or provide for employees any segregated facilities at any of its establishments, and it will not permit employees to perform their services at any location under its control where segregated facilities are maintained. The Contractor agrees that a breach of this certification is a violation of the equal opportunity clause of this contract. As used in this certification, the term “segregated facilities” means any waiting rooms, work areas, rest rooms and wash rooms, restaurants and other eating areas, time clocks, locker rooms, and other storage or dressing areas, parking lots, drinking fountains, recreation or entertainment areas, transportation and housing facilities provided for employees which are segregated by explicit directive or are, in fact, segregated on the basis of race, color, religion, or national origin because of habit, local custom, or any other reason. The Contractor further agrees that (except where it has obtained for specific time periods) it will obtain identical certification from proposed subcontractors prior to the award of subcontracts exceeding $10,000 which are not exempt from the provisions of the equal opportunity clause; that it will retain such certifications in its files; and that it will forward the preceding notice to such proposed subcontractors (except where proposed subcontractors have submitted identical certifications for specific time periods).
