Arbitrator Selection List Clause Samples

The Arbitrator Selection List clause defines the process by which parties involved in a dispute choose an arbitrator from a predetermined list. Typically, each party is provided with a list of potential arbitrators, from which they may strike or rank candidates according to preference, ultimately leading to the appointment of a mutually acceptable arbitrator. This clause ensures a fair and transparent method for selecting an impartial decision-maker, thereby reducing potential bias and streamlining the arbitration process.
Arbitrator Selection List. Within thirty (30) calendar days after the signing of this Agreement, the Employer and the Association shall attempt to agree to a list of eleven (11) names of arbitrators for the Arbitrator Selection List. Absent mutual agreement, the parties shall petition the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service for a list of twenty-one (21) names of arbitrators. The parties shall then alternately strike names from the list until eleven (11) names remain. These eleven (11) names shall constitute the Arbitrator Selection List.
