Common use of ASSIGNED FIREARMS Clause in Contracts

ASSIGNED FIREARMS. Members of the Fire Prevention Bureau who have been assigned a handgun as a duty sidearm, may request to purchase the weapon for $1.00 upon retirement, provided they had ten (10) or more years of continuous service, or served five (5) or more continuous years upon disability retirement with the Fire Prevention Bureau contiguous with and immediately prior to retirement. The Safety Director reserves the right to substitute the fair market cash value of the handgun in lieu of the sale of the weapon.
