ASSIGNMENT FOLLOWING CLASS CANCELLATION. Regular/Contract faculty who have a class or classes canceled may be reassigned to another class or classes, subject to the following procedures: 6.6.1 Following cancellation of a class, a faculty member may elect to have his or her annual load balanced by picking up an additional (equivalent) class the following semester. However, the faculty member may "owe" the District no more than one (1) class. 6.6.2 If possible, the faculty member will be assigned another section of a course he or she is currently teaching. 6.6.3 Unless waived, a Regular/Contract faculty member shall be assigned to a course he or she has taught in the past two years. The instructor may waive this requirement. 6.6.4 Regular/Contract faculty who experience class cancellations shall be reassigned to new classes within two weeks of the beginning of the semester. 6.6.5 Regular/Contract faculty may be reassigned to semester-length or less-than-semester-length classes.
