Association Stewards. 5.01 The Company agrees to recognize two (2) Stewards selected by the Association, one (1) of whom shall be the Chief Xxxxxxx. All Stewards shall be regular employees of the Company during their term of office and shall have at least twelve (12) months of service with the Company prior to assuming office. 5.02 The Association will inform the Company in writing of the names of the Stewards appointed by the Association and of any subsequent changes in the names of any Xxxxxxx or Stewards. The Company shall not be asked to recognize any Xxxxxxx until such notification from the Association has been received. 5.03 The Association acknowledges that the Stewards have their regular duties to perform on behalf of the Company and accordingly the privilege of stewards to leave their work without loss of pay to attend to Association business (defined as filing of a grievance or meeting with the Company during normal working hours on the work site, but exclude the negotiations for the renewal of the Collective Agreement) is granted subject to the following conditions:
