AWARD WITHIN THE CLASSIFICATION SERIES. a. The vacant position, if to be filled, shall be awarded within fifteen working days to the bidding employee, within the classification of the vacancy, with the highest seniority date. b Exceptions to this shall exist in the Maintenance Department and Transportation Department. The employee must possess the ability to perform the required work and have the skills and CDL license required for the position as determined by the immediate supervisor. c When an employee is awarded a transfer within the district to another classification, his/her seniority date in the new classification shall be listed as the date of the transfer to the new classification. The employee's district seniority shall remain their date of hire.
