Back-up scenario Sample Clauses

Back-up scenario. ‌ The second scenario considered a situation where REFCS is used as a back-up power supply in case of power black-outs. In this case, the REFCS was assumed to be used for 100 h per year, again in Australia, for 20 years. This equals to 2000 usage hours in total. With 2 kW power the total energy produced during the 20 years was thus 4 MWh. The REFCS equipment was assumed to last as it is due to small usage hours, so no replaced parts were considered. The transportation of ethanol was considered and was assumed to be the same as in the off- grid scenario, i.e. 100 kilometres by 3,5-7,5 metric ton lorry.
