Benefit Plans Representative. During the recent negotiations, the Union expressed concern with respect to servicing its members at certain locations on matters relating to pension, insurance programs, and SUB local appeal matters. Accordingly, it is agreed that, subject to the conditions set forth, the National Union, CAW may: Appoint one (1) Part-Time Salary Benefit Plans Representative, who shall be a regular salary employee on the active roll having seniority and working in the Windsor area offices. Such representatives shall function only so long as the number of represented employees on the active roll at those locations listed above remains at 51 employees or more. A Benefit Plans Representative shall be allowed up to a maximum of eight (8) hours per week without loss of pay for time spent in handling such benefit matters. Such aforementioned agreement is subject to the following conditions: (a) If the Benefit Plans Representative wishes to leave work to handle one of the aforestated matters for an employee the Benefit Plans Representative shall so advise supervision and report to supervision after having disposed of the matter. Before talking to the employee, the Benefit Plans Representative shall also make prior arrangements with the employee's supervisor to do so, who will make arrangements for the Benefit Plans Representative to speak to the employee. The Benefit Plans Representative shall keep a daily log of such visits, noting destination and arrival and departure times. Such log will be submitted to supervision upon request. (b) The Benefit Plans Representative shall be restricted to non-premium hours in handling such benefit matters and the time spent on them shall be compensated at the Benefit Plans Representative's regular salary rate. (c) The privilege of the Benefit Plans Representative to leave work during regular working hours without loss of pay is subject to the condition that the time will be devoted to the prompt handling of benefit matters and will not be abused, and that the Benefit Plans Representative will perform assigned work at all times, except when necessary to leave work to handle matters as provided herein. (d) Notwithstanding the Benefit Plans Representative's position on the seniority list, the Benefit Plans Representative shall in the event of a temporary layoff or an indefinite layoff be continued at work at all times when one or more departments or fractions thereof, of the Local, are at work, provided the Benefit Plans Representative has the ability to perform the work being done at the time. (e) If the Company believes that the Benefit Plans Representative is abusing any of the provisions hereof, it may upon thirty (30) days' written notice to the National Union terminate this arrangement. The Benefit Plans Representative shall perform only the duties of Union representatives as expressly set forth in the Pension Plan, the Insurance Program and the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Plan. Other salary Union representatives in the offices shall not participate in benefit plan matters except as any of them has been designated to act as the second member of a local committee pursuant to the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Plan. The Benefit Plans Representative shall not participate in the grievance procedure and those matters with which such Benefit Plans Representative deals shall not be subject to the grievance procedure but shall be subject to the review procedure specified in the appropriate Plan or Program.

Before talking to the employee, the Benefit Plans Representative shall also make prior arrangements with the employee's supervisor to do so, who will make arrangements for the Benefit Plans Representative to speak to the employee. Such log will be submitted to supervision upon requestallowed a maximum of two (2) hours per day.
(b) The Super Seniority In a layoff of one full week or longer, the Benefit Plans Representative shall be restricted to nonretained on a super-premium hours seniority basis; firstly in handling such benefit matters and the time spent on them shall be compensated at the Benefit Plans Representative's regular salary rate.
(c) The privilege of own classification, and secondly by displacing the most junior employee in the Plant whose job the Benefit Plans Representative to leave work during regular working hours without loss is capable of pay is subject to the condition that the time will be devoted to the prompt handling of benefit matters and will not be abused, and that the Benefit Plans Representative will perform assigned work at all times, except when necessary to leave work to handle matters as provided herein.
(d) Notwithstanding the Benefit Plans Representative's position on the seniority listperforming. During this period, the Benefit Plans Representative shall be allowed such time as might be required to deal with benefit problems of employees up to the maximum provided under Letter 2.1. The Placement Representative will assist the Management Placement Representative in the event placement of employees with permanent or temporary medical restrictions or other limitations on suitable work in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Placement duties include but are not limited to: • Using plant placement procedure, assist in placing employees who are fit to do immediate temporary modified work. • Using plant placement procedure, assist in placing employees who have been off work and are fit to return to modified duties. • Follow up with employees who miss work the day following a reported accident. Make every effort to insure they do not become lost time claims by offering modified work. • Monitor and follow up with temporary layoff or an indefinite layoff be continued at work at all times when one or more departments or fractions thereof, of placements to insure they are provided additional placement opportunities. • Discuss the Local, are at work, provided the Benefit Plans Representative has the employee’s ability to perform the do modified work being done at the time.
(e) If the Company believes that the Benefit Plans Representative is abusing any of the provisions hereofwith attending physician. • Assist employees with concerns or questions on S&A, it may upon thirty (30) days' written notice EI, or other Benefits and ensure employees are directed to the National appropriate Department or Representative. Part of this assistance may require attendance at meetings with WSIB representatives and Management to review plant operations. • The discussions also dealt with the rehabilitative aspects of disabilities, and as such the Placement Representative would participate in early intervention meetings with the employee, Company medical representatives, and other stakeholders to recommend the appropriate rehabilitation measures. • Computer tracking and minor administrative duties to maintain current data on disabled employees may be required. • Any concerns, which may arise pertaining to the Program, will be raised with the Union terminate this arrangement. The Benefit Plans Representative shall perform only the duties of Union representatives as expressly set forth in the Pension Plan, the Insurance Program Plant Chairperson and the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit PlanHuman Resources Manager or their designate. Other salary Union representatives in the offices shall not participate in benefit plan matters except as any of them has been designated to act as the second member of a local committee pursuant to the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Plan.
